Rome 1960. In the movie “La Dolce Vita”, directed by Federico Fellini, Marcello Mastroianni is Marcello, a journalist who spends days (and nights) searching for celebrities in unusual situations: the term “Paparazzi” was born. During that period, Marcello Geppetti (1933-1998) starts portraying private and public life in a dynamic way from Sophia Loren to Brigitte Bardot, from John Lennon to Audrey Hepburn. In his 20s Geppetti together with a small group of young photographers writes a new page in the history of photography, the action photography, where “stars”, “glamour” and “irony” are the keywords.
